A Lifetime of Support After Discharge
As you complete formal substance abuse treatment, you will transition into the long-term phase of recovery that lasts a lifetime. Each of our fully-integrated alumni services offers lifetime access to our recovery coaches, recovery experts, and clinical staff.
Behavioral health therapy, support groups, 12-step programs, community resources, relapse prevention training, vocational assistance, and mentorship opportunities are all available on a scheduled, as-needed basis.
When treatment ends, your life begins again. And we’ll be there with you every step of the way.
Alumni Stories
Why Is Aftercare Important?
The research suggests that aftercare that involves more active efforts to engage participants and prevent relapse produces positive results, especially for those with the highest risk. The necessary functions of a strong alumni program should include:[1]
- Help to maintain sobriety
- Reducing the frequency or severity of relapse
- Assistance with employment or housing
- Offering opportunities to give back
- Building recovery capital
- Participating in fun and safe recreational activities together
The Benefits Of An Alumni Aftercare Program
A Greater Sense of Community
The recovery journey can feel isolating. You may feel disconnected or misunderstood by friends, family, and coworkers.
As part of a larger, recovery-minded community, you will finally be seen, heard, and accepted despite your challenges.
Critical Accountability
Even the best-laid plans and the most effective treatment still require human-level action and accountability.
When joining our alumni program, you will have lifetime access to recovery support and emergency resources to prevent relapse and aid in a lifetime of sobriety.
Community Outreach Opportunities
One of the most beneficial activities for recovery is to take the focus off of self and personal desires or goals. When you focus on the needs of others, you’re able to shift your perspective and improve yourself in the process.
Continuing Education
The world of substance use and mental health is constantly evolving. By staying informed and prepared, you and your loved ones can remain safe and support others in your circle.
Ongoing Treatment
At Paramount Wellness, we support our patients for life. Here you will have lifetime access to coaches, providers, groups, and resources for as long as you need them.
12-Step Facilitation
Some 12-step programs like Narcotics Anonymous (NA) or Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) have been helping people and saving lives for decades. The principles taught and absorbed there can do the same for you.
What Does The Alumni Program Look Like?
Peer support and skill development are some of the most effective components of successful recovery. When you graduate from detox and inpatient treatment, this is when you need the most practical support.
Now is the time when you’re beginning to reintegrate back into your daily routines and could be presented with familiar triggers and temptations. The alumni program offers a weekly or even daily checkpoint where you can get the support you need to practice your coping skills and prevent relapse. Your community of recovery-minded individuals is also counting on you to do the same for them when you’re ready.
